Lace Bug
There are many types of lace bugs which attack our trees and shrubs. The pests should not be confused with lace wings which are beneficial insects that feed on the insect pests. The photo shows the damage caused by the azalea lace bug.
Control for this pest requires a consistent spray program which includes scouting for pest activity, correct timing for the insecticide applications and the use of both systemic and contact insecticides.
