Dollar spot appears as small silver dollar size blotches, usually in warm season turf. The key word here is blotches. Very seldom do we see the distinct spots caused by dollar spot fungus that are common on golf greens. The presence of dollar spot can indicate compaction problems, too much thatch, or is simply an indicator that available nutrient levels are dropping and should be replenished.
